In the realm of technology and innovation, Apple has once again captured headlines with the launch of its highly anticipated and premium-priced Vision Pro headset in the United States. Priced at $3,499, approximately £100,000 in Pakistani Rupees, American consumers were granted the opportunity in mid-January to pre-order this cutting-edge device. Rumours surrounding the headset had been circulating since it was in development, with Apple officially unveiling it back in June 2023, marking it as the company's newest product since the introduction of the Apple Watch in 2015.

 

However, despite the excitement surrounding its launch, the Vision Pro headset has not been without its challenges. According to the Financial Times, Apple made the decision to halve production, reducing the initial estimate from 1 million to less than 500,000 units by 2024.

 

So, what makes this expensive headset so special? Apple announced that the Vision Pro would boast 256GB of data capacity, and notably, the eye-tracking feature will work on just one eye. Extended reality creates an environment that feels real but is based on digital elements, and mixed reality provides a blend of virtual and physical environments.

 

Apple has also released a product trailer on the internet, featuring various celebrities wearing different goggles and helmets, followed by a woman wearing the Vision Pro headset. This promotional tactic aims to generate interest in the same way Apple sought to create excitement when launching the iPhone in 2017.
